"A Taste for Evil"

Films: The Silence of the Lambs (1991), Hannibal (2001), Red Dragon (2002), Hannibal Rising (2007)

Alias: Hannibal the Cannibal

Type: Natural

Location: Haunted home/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Some of the worst killers here are the ones who cannot be stopped by conventional means, and smash through every obstacle. But the flipside is just as bad. The ones who rely on a brilliant mind to achieve their depravity. Hannibal is an infamous case in point.

History: Once a young man living in Nazi-era Europe, Hannibal Lecter was driven to madness when his sister was cannibalized by deserters of the ending war. He had them all killed, but forsake his humanity in the process. Even after taking a job as a psychiatrist, he ended up murdering many before being incarcerated in an insane asylum. With all of that said, the law found that for all of Hannibal's horrible acts, he was too smart to kill, and has been crucial to tracking down even more brutal killers, such as Jame "Buffalo Bill" Gumb and Francis "the Tooth Fairy" Dolarhyde.

Notable Kills: Murders his sister's killer by engraving her initials into him several times, feeds a man to some hungry pigs, and EATS AND SERVES BITS AND PIECES OF A GUY'S BRAIN WHILE HE'S STILL ALIVE.

Final Fate: Time and time again, Lecter's guidance proves successful. But the last time we saw him, he had escaped his confines, and coerced a someone into becoming his lover. With that said, it seems that she has kept his cannibalistic tendencies to a minimum.

Powers/Abilities: A calculating and dangerous mind that can manipulate just about anyone.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 4-Don't let this man's sophisticated mind and demeanor fool you. Lecter is about as savage as any other serial killer. He just knows how to do it without making too much of a mess. That said, he is willing to stop those worse than him, and at times can be a genuine friend. Just hope that you don't get on his bad side in any way.

Trivia: -A particularly popular TV series named after Hannibal was aired on NBC that had Mads Mikkelsen play as the killer instead of Anthony Hopkins. It placed a lot more emphasis on the relationship between Lecter and his common frenemy, William Graham, as well as having a rather spectacular death scene involving an eel against one of the more vile antagonists.

-Apparently, the main inspiration for Lecter was Dr. Alfredo Ballí Treviño, who was pretty much identical to the fictional serial killer, minus the cannibalism...as far as we know. Also, he managed to avoid the death sentence until dying of natural causes in 2009.

Such a moth really does tell everything.

See? There's more to this insect than meets the eye.

Here we go again.

Not quite. Wait for it...

Gaudy, but it fits the ridiculousness of it all.

You really don't want to know what happens next.
The Odd Couple as directed by sadists.

Um...ew?

When the law catches up with him, he'll look like that for sure.

And meet the Red Dragon a second time. Ever saw Manhunter?

No matter what, insanity is something that never truly goes away.

Don't look now, Clarice. You just might attatched.

A bit less symbolic, but...

There are just some scenes that straddle the line between funny and creepy.

Madness isn't a door. It's a portal to oblivion.

Just you wait until that mask becomes your restraining device.

For reference, here's Buffalo Bill himself. Happy now?

Is it bad that we think he looks dashing in a fedora?

That beautiful woman he was eyeing in this film? Remember. That was (probably) his aunt.

A better time. A more innocent time.
